I'm Alex. I do stuff with computers, music and occasionally both at the same time.
- I'm studing Computer Science at the University of Cambridge. Here are some things I've been working on.
- I make websites for people. Click here to find out more.
- I am one of two organ scholars at St Catharine's College, Cambridge.
- Both: I recently gave a talk on generating music algorithmically.
I am currently too busy to take on projects during term time. However, if you would like to discuss the possibility of future work, do let me know.
I will link to some of my recent work here, which is soon to go live.
I have experience developing web applications in Ruby on Rails and PHP, as well as making things pretty™.
I recently wrote a ray tracer which, despite its simplicity, gives some nice results.
I plan to develop this as per the goals on the project page.
I recently gave a talk on inspired algorithmic melody generation
as part of the Churchill Computer Science talk series.
I plan to open source the demo and slides, and link to them here soon.
I hope to open source and post some other assorted projects here in the not-too-distant future.
Back to Front
I began learning the organ as a chorister at Salisbury Cathedral. I'm currently in my second year as the junior organ scholar of St. Catharine's College, Cambridge.
Last summer, as well as touring with the college choir, I gave recitals at St. Andrew's URC in Bournemouth, and St. Peter's, Parkstone, where I was awarded the Dickinson Manser award for the best performer in the series.
Do get in touch if you have any questions.
